Hard to believe it’s been almost two years since I’ve been back to this beautiful place thanks to Covid.

Midhope Castle was first built in the 15th century growing in size over the centuries as it changed hands, but by the 1920’s it became uninhabited and fell into disrepair. Thankfully it’s was re-roofed in the 1980’s to prevent further deterioration but it was still relatively unknown despite being a beautiful castle.

In 2013 Outlander Starz chose Midhope to double as Lallybroch- the ancestral home of Jamie Fraser - and Midhope has since become a Mecca for Outlander fans to visit
